Our mission is for guests to immerse into the landscape, explore, and be inspired. And who knows, maybe one or two will feel so connected that a stay at Altitude will form the start of an entirely new land regeneration journey.

Altitude 261 is uniquely placed at the crossroads of high conservation values (HCV) forest and wildlife corridors. Not only is it a beautiful property with a stunning outlook, but it has a very diverse fauna profile. We are lucky that much of the landscape reveals at close hand the incredible diversity of the Byron region.
Pass our rainforest creek on arrival, wind up the 1km sealed driveway and you will see rainforest in one direction and koala forest in the other. Looking towards the ocean from the house we have beautiful regrowth forest that continues its return back to rainforest roots. This is our major project over the next decade.
Guests are invited to walk the property and explore. While the property is steep in parts we have created a number of easy walking tracks which run along the mountain contours (sensible precautions obviously!)
For the more adventurous behind the house is very wild wet schlerophyll forest that rises up to Mt Boogarem, part of Mt Jerusalem National Park. At the bottom corner of the property on the creek (beyond the gate) is a wonderful waterfall with a White Fig curtain. Makes sure you check it out during your visit.
